Georgia Dome Information:
The Georgia Dome is an indoor multipurpose venue located in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. Since opening in 1992 the Georgia Dome has hosted thousands of professional and college sporting events. And of course, it has also hosted hundreds of other sporting events, special events, shows, and concerts. This variety has made the Georgia Dome one of the most popular venues in the entire United States.
At this time there is only one primary tenant that plays home games at the Georgia Dome. The Atlanta Falcons of the NFL play their home games here, and have done so since the arena opened in 1992. The Atlanta Hawks also called the Georgia Dome home for one season in the last 90's. Although this venue only has one full time tenant, it does not have any problems staying busy on a regular basis.
One of the biggest advantages of the Georgia Dome is its capacity. This venue can seat more than 71,000 which make it one of the largest venues in the entire country. This works out well know matter what type of event is being played out inside.
Throughout the years many great sporting events have taken place at the Georgia Dome. This includes the Chick-fil-A Bowl each year, college basketball conference tournaments, and many phases of the 1996 summer Olympics. And on top of all these sporting events, each year many musical performers play in front of a sold at crowd at the Georgia Dome.
Anybody who has the chance to see an event at the Georgia Dome should take advantage. Not only is it modern both inside and out, but there is not a bad seat in the house.
